Chäserrugg, Switzerland

It was the last sunny day before winter, and we took advantage of that with a trip up this mountain with a summit restaurant overlooking a beautiful lake.

I honestly never thought Switzerland would be this beautiful. It’s like the Swiss live in a little pocket of paradise, and I hope they remain protective of it.

What do you remember most?

The cheese and bread platter we had. We ordered from the restaurant, sat on a bench with a prime spot looking out at the lake. Swiss cuisine is simple, yet very tasty because of the quality of ingredients. You can have plain pasta with nothing but Swiss cheese on it, and it will rival the pasta you get in Italy. Gruyere and Appenzeller are my favorite cheeses now.
